It’s National Cupcake Day!
Holidays are right upon us, which means lots of cooking & eating, so for National Cupcake day we felt it was fitting (Although our belts might not fit after today) to spend a day with Shante Norwood of Te `sTees Cupcakes and do a little wine & cupcake pairing!

Banana Pudding Cupcake & Semillion Orange Wine
Oranges and bananas may sound odd, but who doesn’t love a good ol’ fashioned banana cream pie! The sweet and ripe banana paired with just the right zing of the orange wine really lit up our tongue with excitement.
Many people ask “What is Orange Wine?” It is really just white wine but fermented on skins like red wine. Our Semillion is a perfect balance of acid and delicate wine that sides deliciously with Te `Stees banana Pudding Cupcake!
Strawberry Crumble Cupcake & ZMC Zinfandel Wine Blend
Locally Sourced Strawberries from the central coast is a staple of any Californian’s diet! In fact, California grows more strawberries than any other state. Californians also love their old vine zinfandel, so it is a match made in…California 😉
The strawberry pairs well with a Zinfandel because they are both sweet and acidic, so it dances on the tongue lightly leaving you wanting another bite, and another sip…and another bite, and another sip!
S’mores Cupcake & Cabernet Sauvignon Wine
A fall fireside favorite, for any person, s’mores cupcake was a favorite of the day. Fire toasted marshmallow really stood out and pleasantly held its flavor when paired with a nice robust Cabernet Sauvignon.
The richness and smokiness of the s’mores Cupcake complimented and highlighted the barrel-aged red wine and brought out even more flavors and mouthfeel than expected.
Lemon Meringue Cupcake & Lazy Lemen Sparkling Wine
Any good lineup will include the infamous lemon flavors, and for us is the absolute winner because it is a perfect pair with our Lazy Lemen Sparkling Lemon wine!
