Discovering Wine Tasting

After a recent visit, one of our customers sent us a nice email about their adventures in discovering wine tasting.

My wife and I and our close friends recently discovered wine tasting. We had never thought to spend a day touring the many wineries that surround our hometown. We made the necessary arrangements and embarked on an unknown adventure for a day of wine tasting upon our out-of-town friends’ suggestion.

I enjoy having an occasional glass of wine, however, it was not until I went on a day of wine tasting with my group that I realized how much fun discovering wine could be. While tasting, I realized my wine preferences were shaped by my limited exposure to either red or white wine.

As I sampled more varieties of wine, my taste became more refined and I became more particular about what I wanted in future wines. I had no idea that wine tasting could make me so picky, but it definitely did. Each of the six of us who went wine tasting that day came out with new favorites!

One of the things I liked most about going wine tasting was what a unique and enjoyable way it was to spend an afternoon. Typically we spend time with our friends boating or shopping in quaint shops. Taking them wine tasting felt like a refreshing change of pace. I’d encourage anyone that lives near a vineyard to plan a visit. Wine tasting truly was an experience that I will never forget and that I doubt will be matched as my wife and I try to host guests in the future.

Discovering Wine TastingAnother great thing about wine tasting is that it is completely relaxing. I hate being entertained or entertaining others because it always stresses me out. I know the feeling of rushing around to prepare my house, cook delicious food, and plan exciting activities. However, when we went to a wine tasting, we were able to enjoy our time, & conversations with our friends without any stress.

Each of the wineries we visited on our wine-tasting tour was incredibly interesting. We walked away from vineyards with new knowledge about wine, vines, & about the lovely area we call home. Being able to learn new things as we enjoyed a leisurely afternoon.

I recommend going on a wine-tasting tour at a winery to spend an enjoyable afternoon with loved ones or friends.
